Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • Essential: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline (BA, B.Sc, B.Com, etc.) from a recognized university.
  • Final Year Students: Candidates in the final year of graduation can apply if they submit proof of passing before the Main Exam.

Salary Structure

Selected candidates receive salaries as per the 7th Pay Commission:

Selection Process

The HCS 2026 selection involves three stages:

  1. Preliminary Exam (Objective type/MCQs) – Screening test
  2. Main Exam (Descriptive) – Written test
  3. Interview/Personality Test – Final selection

Only candidates qualifying in Prelims are eligible for Main Exam. Final merit is based on Main Exam + Interview marks.

Stage 1: Preliminary Examination

  • Papers: 2 (2 hours each)

  • Negative Marking: 0.25 per wrong answer

Stage 2: Main Examination
