Before Anything Else — Check Your Eligibility
This is not standard 1st Grade Teacher recruitment. The eligibility conditions here are specific, and candidates who do not meet all three requirements will be rejected at document verification even after clearing the written exam. So check carefully before you invest time in the application.
The Three Things You Must Have
Requirement One — The Right Postgraduate Degree
Your Master’s degree must be in one of these six subjects specifically: English, Hindi, History, Political Science, Sociology, or Music. That is the complete list. MSc in any science subject, MBA, MCA, MCom — none of these qualify regardless of your marks or institution. The degree must be from a university recognized by UGC.
Requirement Two — Special Education Teaching Qualification
A regular B.Ed is not enough for this post. You need either a B.Ed degree specifically in Special Education, or a regular B.Ed combined with a two-year Diploma in Special Education. Both routes are accepted. Both must be from recognized institutions.
If you have a regular B.Ed without any Special Education training, you do not qualify — and applying anyway will only waste your fee money and preparation time.
Requirement Three — Hindi Language and Rajasthani Culture Knowledge

Your starting basic pay as a 1st Grade Teacher Special Education is ₹44,300 per month. That is the floor. Now add the components that bring your actual take-home up significantly:
Dearness Allowance is currently running at approximately 50% of basic pay and gets revised every six months — meaning it only goes up over time. House Rent Allowance varies from 8% to 24% depending on whether you are posted in a rural area, a small town, or a larger city. Transport Allowance, Medical Benefits under the government health scheme, and Leave Travel Concession round out the package.
When you add everything together, total monthly income at the starting level lands between ₹55,000 and ₹70,000. In smaller posting locations it will be toward the lower end of that range. Metro postings push it higher.
Now consider the long game. The pay scale runs all the way to ₹1,40,100 basic pay at the senior end. Teachers with 15 to 20 years of service who have received their increments and promotions regularly can expect to reach that level. And throughout that journey, every DA revision — which happens twice a year — adds to the take-home automatically.
At retirement, there is a pension. Not a provident fund payout that you exhaust in a few years. A monthly pension for the rest of your life, calculated on your final pay. This is the financial security that no private school, no matter how prestigious, can offer.
Compare this to a private school offering ₹25,000 to ₹35,000 per month for a similar teaching role. The government position pays more from day one, grows faster, and ends with lifetime financial security. The math is not close.
What the Job Actually Involves

1st Grade Teacher Special Education posts are placed in Rajasthan government schools that have inclusive education programs or special education sections. Your students will include children with visual impairment, hearing impairment, intellectual disabilities, learning disabilities, physical disabilities, and multiple disabilities.
Your daily work will involve developing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students based on their specific needs, adapting curriculum and teaching materials for accessibility, coordinating with parents and school administration on student progress, using assistive technologies appropriate to each student’s disability, and documenting progress systematically.

Selection Process — Four Stages, No Interview
RPSC has kept the process clean and merit-based. No interview for this post — your written exam score decides everything.
Stage 1 — Written Examination
Objective multiple choice questions. The exam covers five broad areas: Teaching Methodology, Special Education Concepts, Rajasthan General Knowledge, Current Affairs, and Educational Psychology. Total marks and duration are confirmed in the official notification.

Stage 2 — Document Verification
Candidates who clear the written exam are called with all original documents. Every certificate you listed in your application will be physically verified. This stage has historically filtered out a meaningful percentage of candidates in RPSC recruitments due to document issues. Teaching Methodology covers the core of how effective teaching works — lesson planning, classroom management, teaching aids, evaluation techniques, and modern pedagogical approaches. For Special Education specifically, this section will test your knowledge of adapted teaching methods for students with different disability types.
Special Education Concepts is the section that separates genuinely qualified candidates from those who just hold the certificate. Expect questions on types and classifications of disabilities, definitions and legal frameworks under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act 2016, inclusive education principles and implementation, Individualized Education Plans — what they contain, how they are developed, how progress is measured — assistive technologies for different disabilities, and teaching strategies specific to each disability category.
If you studied Special Education seriously during your B.Ed or Diploma, this section should be your strongest. If you coasted through the qualification, invest preparation time here.
Rajasthan General Knowledge follows the standard pattern — history of Rajasthan including major dynasties and freedom movement contributions, Rajasthan geography covering districts, rivers, climate and agriculture, culture and traditions including fairs, festivals, folk art and music, famous personalities, and current state government schemes particularly in education and disability sectors.
Current Affairs covers the last 12 to 18 months of national and international events, government scheme launches and updates, sports, awards, and significant developments in the education sector. Reading a good monthly current affairs magazine consistently from now until the exam covers this section adequately.
Educational Psychology goes into child development theories, learning psychology, motivation and its role in learning, intelligence theories and assessment, personality development, mental health basics, and specifically the psychological dimensions of working with students with disabilities — how disability affects self-concept, social relationships, and learning motivation.

If you already have an SSO ID from previous RPSC or Rajasthan government applications, log in directly. No new registration needed.
If you are new to SSO, go to sso.rajasthan.gov.in and create your One Time Registration (OTR) profile. Enter your name exactly as on your degree certificate, mobile number, email ID, and date of birth. Verify via OTP.
Stop and read this: Your OTR profile, once submitted, cannot be changed. Not by you, not by RPSC, not by the helpdesk. There is no correction mechanism for OTR errors. A wrong name, wrong date of birth, or inactive mobile number creates problems that follow you through every future Rajasthan government application. Verify every field with your actual certificates before clicking Submit.
After SSO login, navigate to G2C Citizen App, then Recruitment Portal, find the 1st Grade Teacher Special Education 2026 link, and click Apply Online.
Work through each section methodically. Personal details first, then educational qualifications — enter your PG degree subject correctly, institution, year, and percentage. Then your B.Ed Special Education or B.Ed plus Diploma details. Then category and district preference.
